Current bid: EUR 10000
General:
Offered here is a hard-to-find Karmann Ghia Cabrio with the beautiful red-black color combination.
The most ideal version with the smaller lights (pre '70 model) and with the most efficient engine (1600cc).
The car was imported from sunny Florida in the late 90s, then registered in Belgium with a collector.
As a result, the body has stood the test of time well.
It was technically inspected in the year 2000 as a classic car with unlimited validity.
In the last 25 years, only a good 10000 kilometers have been added.
The car was therefore only sporadically used as an item of a private collection.
Bodywork and paintwork :
The car is in an overall neat and good condition.
It still has the original convertible roof with glass window.
This is in good but not perfect condition.
The connection to the windows could certainly be better and there is some wind noise when driving with the hood closed.
In the sleek paintwork some small scratches are visible here and there, but none of the scratches continue to the bare plate, so there is no visible corrosion.
No noticeable welding work can be seen on the bodywork; Either they are very well done or there has not been welded in the past.
The engine lid does not hook perfectly into the lock, adjustment work is necessary to get back to perfect closing.
The bottom plate has been welded, it has been made strong again but this could be better aesthetically.
Technical:
The car drives, brakes and everything works in terms of electricity.
The engine was overhauled a few years ago and fitted with forged pistons, new bearings and new seals all around.
Interior:
The interior has been completely renewed in the past, from ground carpets to seats and door panels.
Everything is still in a very neat condition.
The sensitive dashboard panel is also not cracked and neat.
